EDUCATION

photoEducation is a priority of the Government of Ontario.  That’s why the province, together with its partners, is investing about $10.2 billion to renew, repair, expand and build schools and post secondary institutions between 2005 and 2010.

The Good Places to Learn Initiative is providing annual funding to school boards to enable them to undertake to repair schools, add additions and build new schools.

And the province is making investments for planned school construction and to accommodate projected new enrolment growth.

Investments will be made in a major expansion of medical and graduate school spaces, resulting an additional 14,000 more graduate spaces and a 15 per cent increase in the number of doctors graduating each year, beginning in 2011-12.

As well, investments are being made to renew university and college facilities and purchase new, updated equipment.
