Ontario and its partners are investing more than $5.3 million in health care facilities and equipment by 2010. These investments support the government’s goal to reduce wait times, improve treatment and upgrade equipment.

Investments in health care support the needs of Ontario’s growing and aging population. Over the next 25 years, Ontario’s population will increase by approximately 4 million people and the proportion of the population over the age of 65 years will increase from about 13 percent to more than 22 per cent.

Since May 2005, the government has announced more than 100 hospital projects across the province that will improve, expand and modernize facilities and increase access to quality health care.
